Friends and Fangs
Friends and Fangs is a fun and light-hearted social game designed for online friends. Embracing the charm of 'social slop games,' it offers a relaxed and silly experience where players can create chaotic and memorable moments. Set on a charming little island, the game features adorable critters caught in a reimagined version of tag with a sharp toothed twist.
Summary Of Work
-
Project Management: As the Producer for the team, I supported scheduling and planning, facilitated meetings, and ensured deliverables were completed on time and to quality expectations.
-
Design Documentation: I took a leading role in creating project artifacts, including design documents, and supported the production teams (art, coding, and design) to work efficiently together.
-
Prototype Development: I developed several feasibility prototypes to support the coding team, helping them rapidly build their multiplayer knowledge and expand on the game’s systems.
-
Build Management: I managed the creation of regular builds for both playtesting and quality assurance purposes.

Development Outcomes
This project was developed as part of the QUT Games Capstone. While I had previously worked on smaller multiplayer games during game jams and personal projects, this was my first time developing a multiplayer project as part of a team. It provided an essential learning opportunity for my future development.
Although I had some prior experience with network architecture, this project presented numerous technical challenges and allowed me to significantly expand my knowledge of Unity Netcode for GameObjects, as well as RPCs and network design in general.
Overall, our team performed well despite the additional complexities and challenges of multiplayer development. I am excited to see how the game continues to evolve in the second half of our capstone journey together.
